Unfortunatley the demand is not for nostalgia or history otherwise today's ships, at least a few, would look more like our QE2.  This is why I continue say pop culture sucks.

We've become so caught up in leisure, pleasure and treasure that we forget the things that are really important!  I submit Oasis of the Seas as exhibit A and there is much much more.

According to Maritime Matters they managed to loose the blimp

Now do they realise it is not a good idea?

"...ship was towing an aerostat (a small helium blimp) which was being tested as a possible passenger "ride"..."

I'm guessing they just cancelled that idea!

I love the fact that the aerostat "appeared to float away".

It can carry 3110 passengers and would tower over the QE2.

Well thats as may be, but will there be crowds and fireworks and special editions of the local newspaper? eh? eh?

3110 passengers?  I can't imagine how big it must be - I will have to check to see if it is coming to Boston - but it may not fit in the channel!!  We have QM2 this weekend!

It won't be towering over nothing after it rolls over from a good fart belched from the balcony of one of those Tokyo shoe-box-house "staterooms"...
