Looks like Las Vagas has taken to the sea! Awful and she does look top heavy.

While trying to find new photos of Disney's Dream, which was floated out today, I found this on the Meyerwerft website.  Here's a teaser.  They should keep her in the shed....

Yes Ken!
Definitely in the shed - or at the very least, in the shade!
We saw her 'type' in the Med, thankfully not in the fjords!

We were chased all over the place, it was downright scary!

For the record, I was kidding about loving the hull graphics.  Does anyone know the rational why gaudy lips and eyes need to be painted on the bow?  I mean, NCL does it with the Jewel with tacky jewel tatoos down the hull, but these ships are creepy with these graphics.  FYI, they're part of Carnival, to throw some gasoline on the fire here.

Perhaps it's the ship's Halloween costume!

Saw this one today in Ft. Lauderdale, Coral Princess.  Not sure what the purpose of the things on funnel are: jet engine assist?

What does everyone think of this one (Norwegian Breakaway):

I think I may have seen her mentioned somewhere here before, but I'm not sure!

I think more pictures have been added since this post from Peter but the Norwegian Breakaway features on the above link to Google images.

I had no idea there were quite so many really ugly ships out there and rather a lot that are just plain ugly too, I must get out more!

Is it not a modern interpretation of WW1 dazzle painting, designed to confuse the brain enough to not realise just what the ship looks like?

Yes RiskyG If an 'ugly sister' was the case in mind, at least the company have had the decency to promote her as such! I heard that the New Yorkers know her as Peter Max, her artist signed her bow!
Graffiti a la the Mauritania had such style, don't you  think?
'my' local cruiser HMS Belfast looks fantastic in nearly 5O shades of grey, but had Peter Max been parked for any duration in the same mooring, alongside the shard, the upcoming cheese-grater and the gherkin, there might have been questions in the House!

In my view, these kind of ships are floating blobs with no personality.  One look at our QE2 and you see her exuding personality with a feeling of power and excitement, not to mention beauty, elegance, grandeur, and grace that no other ship can equal.   I guess you can tell how much I love our QE2 !
QE2 - the ship for all of time, a ship of timeless beauty !

Relating to my previous posting, that particular monstrosity has just assaulted my eyes in the newspaper today!

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/10482144/Floating-city-Plan-for-40000-people-to-live-on-the-high-seas.html

Interesting, though, that what is effectively a mile long aircraft carrier built by the private sector carries the same price tag as the two much smaller public sector carriers being built at the moment....!!

One saving grace - it says this monstosity is too big to ever enter port anywhere ( wonder how they're going to build it, then.. ) so at least it'll be out of sight!
