My video of QM2 & QE in Halifax, Nova Scotia
« on: Jan 28, 2020, 01:28 PM »
Hi everyone, this is my video of a lovely memory of QM2 & Queen Elizabeth in Halifax, Nova Scotia and a wonderful tugboat salute at the sail away. It was such a memorable day and a piece of history as it was the first time two Queens have visited Halifax on the same day. Hope you like it.

Hi Alan - Great video and music, as always, and thanks for making and sharing it !  The tug salute (dance) is truly amazing !  It must have been great to be in Halifax on such a beautiful day and with two Queens there !  June  :)

Fantastic video clips that capture the two ships in port.  When Queen Elizabeth was reversing into the dock she looked a bit too close for comfort, but the Captain done well.

It is a long time since I was in Halifax onboard QE2 (2003).  I seem to remember it was an older terminal building.  There was a genealogy centre on the first floor where the very helpful staff found information on my husband's aunt who had immigrated to Canada in the 1920's.
I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

Hi June & Lynda,
Thank you for your comments on my video. It really was a day to remember as it was the first time that two Queens have called to Halifax together, a little piece of Cunard history! Pier 21 was a main port of entry for many immigrant's to Canada and now it tells that story well within it's walls. A perfect day for us with lovely weather and a very special sailaway performed by the tugboat!

Great video, but I always cringe when I hear the Queen Elizabeth's foghorn!
