QE2 Tribute Video, 1967-2007
« on: Jan 29, 2009, 05:25 AM »
This is a superb video I use in my lectures - it was created by Ian Maclean and can be viewed here:

It looked amazing on QE2's Theatre screen during September (2008) and I will soon be showing it aboard QM2.

All the best,

Chris.

I second that Chris - it was spectacular on the big screen (and an equally impressive presentation to accompany it I should add)!

Thanks Andy - you're very kind! I do hope the 8 I am giving aboard Queen Mary 2 are as popular with her passengers!

Hi Ali. No, unfortunately I am not on the T/A - I'll be on a W/C segment.

That's a shame Chris. It sounds like it would be fantastic to see on a big screen!

I'm sure you'll be a success onboard.

Just the Westbound one; can't do B2B because of term dates.
Just a taster really - wasn't planning on QM2 so soon but got a good deal a few weeks ago and seemed rude to refuse  ;D

Hope you have a great time but recommend you keep clear of King's Court at Afternoon Tea time.  Collecting it yourself and making your own tea with a bag in a cup is not my cup of tea (well, it is but you know what I mean).

My reason for asking is that I shall be back down in Southampton for the 20th to catch her return from NY on the Eastbound return.

Ali - you'll have a great time aboard, but my strongest advice is to try not to compare... Once you're aboard you'll understand why. QM2 is magnificent, but very different to QE2.

Totally agree with Chris.  See her for what she is, not what you'd like her to be.  Personally, I found her a fine loooking lady with very much her own identity but QE2 she isn't.

What a fantastic video and great backing track too.  Seeing the ship being launched made my heart jump into my mouth...I have never seen it before and I was like oh my god what if it tips  ;D  My favourite bit of the video is when the ship is cutting through the Clyde and the people at the side of the river are waving and when they see it coming towards them, they run away.  I would probably have done the same...seeing something that big coming towards me would make me do the same.  Fantastic job to the video maker, makes the heart swell with pride!
