Queen Victoria Suite - two levels - as it appears in October 2020 after recent refurbishment. Sitting room on upper level and bedroom on lower level.

Apologies, Michael, for being a terrible ignorama. Where was the Queen Victoria Suite?

In my memory, the suite opposite the Queen Mary Suite was the Queen Elizabeth Suite. Is my memory playing tricks on me?

That's correct Isabelle, the Queen Elizabeth Suite (starboard side) is opposite Queen Mary Suite. Queen Victoria Suite is one of the smaller penthouse suites located behind the QM and QE suites I think, given it's double deck nature and the balconies. Queen Victoria Suite would've been added in the first set of penthouses in 1972 and as such would've originally been top grade.
First sailed on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last sailed on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw the seagoing QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008. Visited QE2 in her new life, in Dubai, in January 2020 and August 2022.

Queen Victoria was immediately aft of Queen Mary while its equivalent (Queen Anne) was immediately aft of Queen Elizabeth.

QV was originally known as Trafalgar Suite. QV and QA were part of the 1972 Penthouse additions but spanned two decks - it was the first time on a ship passengers could go either upstairs or downstairs to bed depending on whether they wanted the bedroom on the upper or lower levels.

I remember when David Bowie travelled from NY to S'ton, possibly the first time, he was accommodated in one of the lower penthouses and said that he thought it was wonderful. A compliment indeed from somebody who had probably stayed in some of the top hotels around the World.
The next time he travelled with us, from S'ton to NY, i was escorting him onboard, first to The Purser's Desk to check in and then forward via 'A' Stairway to his suite. As we got to his original suite he turned and started to walk in saying 'thank-you', i 'restrained him' with the news that he was going to be in one of the upper Penthouses. We then proceeded to make our way to The Queen Elizabeth Suite, well to say he was blown away...!  Once inside he looked around and turned and quietly said, "If i'd known i was going to travel in such style, i'd have brought my wife."
Earlier in the day, i had taken one of my daughters and my son, who had been on the previous cruise to West Africa and Canaries, to see the cabin David Bowie was going to travel in. They were just so excited, especially after being accommodated in one of the 4 Deck 'servants' cabins for 10 days, to see where he was gonig to live for the Trannie. Careful not to disturb anything as the cabin was ready for occupation by then, my daughter sat on the edge of the huge double bed to have her photo taken, it's one of her favourite QE2 related photos, even all these years later - her sat on David Bowie's bed!!!

As an aside, didn't Mr & Mrs !! occupy both the Queen Mary & Queen Elizabeth penthouses for the World Cruises?
