TheQE2Story at RMS Queen Mary : Jan 16th 2010
« on: Dec 31, 2010, 02:04 PM »
Popular forum member Myles Devin has generously offered to host a small get together on the forum's behalf in the Observation Bar of the wonderful RMS Queen Mary Hotel in Long Beach, California, at 6pm on January 16th 2011.

If you are in the area, please pop in and say hello to Myles who will be making his second visit to Queen Mary, travelling all the way from the Scottish Highlands to do so.

And speaking personally, I wish I could be there!  Hopefully some day soon.

Passionate about QE2's service life for 40 years and creator of this website.  I have worked in IT for 28 years and created my personal QE2 website in 1994.

I guess a time would help! So from 6pm..
And l really cant wait to see the Queen Mary again, Having stayed on her last year l wasnt sure what l would think, or even if l would like her, But she gently wrapped herself round me and wouldnt let go.
If l have space in my luggage, lm hoping to donate from my collection a couple of "Queen Mary" things to the ship, so they can be at home and perhaps enjoyed by others...
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!

Great idea Myles.  I hope some of the Forum members manage to attend.  Wish I could be there but as much as it is my dream to stay on the Queen Mary one day it will not be this year.  Best wishes for a successful get together on Queen Mary.
I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

Hi, Myles, sounds great, just wish we could join you but sadly can't.  We visited her in 1994 but weren't fortunate enough to sleep on board.  We hope to get back some day to stay on board though.  It was an amazing experience, just like walking into the past.  Hope you have a great time. ;)
