I would like to ask the Captain what were his feelings the first time he took command of the QE2?

Hi Lynda,

If you have our book "The QE2 Story" , Captain McNaught shared his thoughts of commanding QE2 for the first time on page 112.

Cheers, Chris.

I'm putting the page together just now - it will be loaded up later on today - bear with me, and sorry for the delay.  I spent a day longer at the highlands than I meant to - partly Myles' fault for leading me astray with an all day breakfast in Elgin :)

Curious.  Captain McNaught didn't answer my question.  Oh well.

Read your newsletter!!  We were trying to do it as a 'members special' to start with - so only registered members know the link, and it was emailed to you a couple of hours ago in the newsletter.

Some excellent questions followed by some great answers by Capt McNaught.
I particularly like the last answer he gave regarding the tanden crossing with QV  ;D

I particularly like the last answer he gave regarding the tanden crossing with QV  ;D

I was onboard and his daily announcements and brief speech at the World Club cocktail party gently poked fun at QV with statements like that.  Classic McNaught wit!  There were jokes about us pulling ahead, arriving early to get some shopping done in NYC, and then coming back out to greet QV.  ;D

Yes brilliant answer - we were on QV and it sure felt like we were flat out. I remember often gazing over at QE2 - looking every bit the sleek greyhound, hardly out of breath at all........

Thouroughly enjoyed reading Captain McNaught's answers. I thought the questions were great and the answers brilliant.
Thanks Rob for organising and thanks to Captain McNaught for taking the time to answer the questions is such great detail.
