Questions about cruise ships after QE2
« on: Dec 04, 2023, 12:09 PM »
Question 1
What was the first passenger ship, built after QE2, that was larger than her?

Question 2
Today, how many passenger ships are there that are larger than QE2?

 Thank you.

In answer to Question 1 - Sovereign of the Seas launched in 1987, beat QE2 on tonnage at 73,529.

In answer to Question 2....loads of em ;D

Had a bit of time to do some research in answer to question 2 and came up with a list of 182 ships over 70,000 tons
constructed since 1988....that's a lot of Steel and Aluminium :)

List is attached - sourced via Wikipedia

Impressive list although P&O's Iona - sister to Arvia - appears to be missing - and Noble Caledonia's Island Sky is definitely NOT 90600 tons - only carries just over 100 passengers!
