Could it be that only a few suites on Deck 10, 11, 12 have real teck on the balconies?

Personally I doubt it, I would think plastic surrogate is better in terms of weight... and probably cost.

It could be that only the grills cabins have teak... I attach a random image from Google images, which appears to be a Grills cabin with teak.

I still find it odd that QV & QE have the fake teak on the outside decks, when near-identical Vista sister ships on other lines get teak. So much for Cunard tradition...  its absolutely lethal when wet, and in formal shoes, as I discovered in August on QV!

Thanks for posting this image. Yes, looks like it could be teak.

If only the Grill cabins have teak, it would mean categories Q1, Q2, (Q3 have no balcony), Q4, Q5, Q6, P1 and P2.

That includes the full decks 9 & 10, plus Queens Suites 11128, 11130, 11151 and 11153 on Deck 11 aft, according to the deck plans.

Sounds quite logical to me.

PS: Yes, I hated the outside decks on QV, too. Made me feel like I was on a ferry, not a Cunard ship.

Just had confirmation from a very reliable source that all balconies on Decks 9 & 10 are teak.

On Deck 11, only the four Queens suites aft ((11128, 11130, 11151 and 11153) are teak, the rest is resin.

Decks 13, 12 and 8 are resin.
