"Bob the Bolt"

Sorry to have to tell you that Robert Hunter, Engineer Officer, AKA "Bob the Bolt"
He was called BtB because of the amount of metal in him! He drove motorcycles, but not very well !
He once totalled (US) wrote off (UK) a car with is head, and the rest of the body following.
Was a great guy, salt of the earth, AND a very hard worker, but, mainly a character.

I once put him down on the drydock repair list. Chief Engineer was not amused!

Rob sorry to hear the sad news about the death of the engineer "Bob the Bolt" Robert Hunter may he RIP. 

I have added the details to the In Memoriam topic
I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

Bob was a character... he had a wicked sense of humor and, it seemed, at times enjoyed to torment the waiters in the galley where he worked by rolling up little balls of plumbers putty and throwing it at an unsuspecting victim before ducking out of sight.... he had fun, but none of it executed with malicious intent, it just wasn't in him... I can see his face now in the crocked laugh he had following his accident.

Sad to hear about the passing of Bob The Bolt. You will be missed mate.
