Cunard ships in Greenock 2021
« on: Mar 30, 2021, 07:34 PM »
Would anyone be up for an informal gathering while QV and QE are in port this year?  (if it goes ahead)?

Rob the information I received from Cunard this month was that these cruises are cancelled.  Queen Victoria cruises are cancelled until 27 August and Queen Elizabeth is cruising in July, August, but I think these are cruise only with the exception of one cruise stopping at Liverpool.  Queen Elizabeth is doing round Britain cruises 14 September, which stops at Greenock and October..

I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

Thank you.  September it is then!!

Waverley might have to be an earlier substitute :)

I'm certainly up for a get-together of the informal variety.

Does anyone have up to date info as to whether a Cunard ship will make it to the Clyde this year?

Inverclyde Now reports Queen Elizabeth Due on Sunday 22nd August, Sunday 5th September, Monday 20th September and Thursday 8th October.
The countdown timer in the latest email I have from Cunard for Queen Elizabeth setting sail again is 6 Days, 6 Hours, so at the moment, everything is looking positive.
We are booked on one of QE's sunshine cruises departing on 24th September and all correspondence is positive on that front as well.

Here's hoping . . . . .

Thank you Pete.

Would anyone like to do a wee casual meetup on the promenade on one of those dates?

In your opinion what was QE2's "final nail in the coffin" with Cunard?
