I wonder how many readers Remember George the Barber in the Suez Canal
He would come on board during your passage and cut crew Hair
If you were from Liverpool he would Talk Scouse, Newcastle Geordie, Scotland Ireland , and so on
The Boat men would come on and if it was not nailed down it would go
I done a passage in March 02 we had a BQ on deck and some body mentioned the Queen Mother had died
I also asked an Old Timer Boat Man is George the Barber still going ?
He replied George was caught with a Large amount of Cigarettes and would be away for a while

What a great story Vincent, thanks for sharing a glimpse into another world!  Was he a good Barber!?
