The upgrade was totally unexpected and my travel agent asked if I knew someone high up in Cunard . It was our. first experience of the QE2 and from that moment on it was a case of “ could we drop down” . The answer was NO but there was always some heavy negotiation on pricing !!!
We were on one occasion asked to join the Captain’s table for the voyage and we turned it down ........but that is another story !
