Those Double Room chairs were replaced in the 1987 transformation of the Double Room to the Grand Lounge as seen here.

Those seats were supremely comfortable, but you had to get used to the idea just how much weight would they hold. At least with those you could sit and remain upright. Im sure there were literally two tables with those chairs situated between the rear of the Grand Lounge and the tour center on the Final Westbound
The iconic Queens Rooms chairs l found , lovely looking as they were, they tended to throw you back if you wanted to sit in them .
I was only ever able to use the Double Down Bar and that was for the Sailing Solo gatherings , Hosted by Peter Mullington and Alexandria Pauli
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!

This evening while watching Magic Ride, the Double Up Room Bar was spotted!
Passionate about QE2's service life for 40 years and creator of this website.  I have worked in IT for 28 years and created my personal QE2 website in 1994.

Modeling that overhead fixture has been a nightmare so far.  But it is a labor of love. 😂

The same sort of decor is on the ceiling of vestibules of the port and starboard doors at the aft end of the Double Up Room.  You can see them in the black and white photo above of the small circular dance floor at the top of the spiral staircase.
