Special photo competition in December
« on: Oct 21, 2020, 08:58 PM »
The 29 prize-winning photos of the past year are really wonderful, and it is a pleasure to assemble them into the three calendars which are now nearing completion.

We therefore thought that, to celebrate, we could run a special competition in December, in which you get the chance to select your favourite photo of the year. There would be no particular topic for the competition, since all 29 prizewinning photos would be vying for your votes.

We also thought that this competition could be worth a special prize, and that one of you might like to take the opportunity to offer such a prize. If you are so inclined, you could either post your offer here, or contact us at

admin@theQE2story.com

to let us know what you have in mind. Any ideas for the competition would be welcome!

One month to go before we launch this special competition, which I for one am greatly looking forward to.

We have not yet received any offers of prizes -- it would be lovely if the competition could be launched with a prize to be won. If you would like to discuss an offer with us, you could email admin@theQE2Story.com, and we would be really pleased to advise.

Maybe this renewed lockdown is a great time to look for something suitable that would please the winner of the year!

Hi everyone,
This morning I have just received a large wall calendar as a prize for my photograph "Liverpool Calling". It is absolutely beautiful. I would like to thank everyone who voted for my entry and also congratulate all of those who entered their wonderful photos. They are fantastic! I would also like to thank the anonymous donor of this special prize as well as Isabelle (who contacted me with the happy news) and all the admin., team. Your efforts are greatly appreciated! What a fabulous reminder to have hanging on my wall, again my thanks to everyone involved. Alan.

Hello Alan, so glad that the calendar arrived and that you are pleased with it. You certainly deserve to see your splendid photograph on the cover!

I am sure that the anonymous donor will be reading your message of thanks -- we were so pleased to get this form of support from a Forum member :) .

Thank you also for your encouraging words to the moderating team -- we are very glad to be keeping the memories  of QE2 alive in such excellent company!

Glad you like the Calendar, Alan and thanks to the anonymous donor of the prize.
I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank
