Whilst browsing on Ebay today I saw listed a Life Jacket whistle which prompted the question....
What happened to all of the life jackets???? There mist have been several thousand that would make interesting souvenirs, did they end up in a dumpster??

They probably sold them Chris. If I recall correctly, a Chief Officer once told me that they were about 75 quid new!

With the ever changing regulations regarding life saving equipment, once QE2 had 'finished' with them they would only be of interest to a collector of maritime items. They would not be able to be used on any vessel covered by SOLAS [Safety Of Life At Sea] regulations so any 'sell on' value would be limited.

£75 would be what Cunard paid for them, not what they got for them, which was probably zilch!
