Unfortunate that you cannot read the article without subscribing!
I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

  • QE2, a home from home - beautiful from all angles!
Carnival UK/Cunard have just refuted the rumour upon being contacted by Chris Frame but the next few days will tell I suppose, as if indeed it is to happen it'll go ahead sooner rather than later.
First travelled on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last stepped foot and travelled on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008 - we had the better view!

And CMV claimed all was well just days before going into administration....

If its on Facebook it MUST be true...  ::)   :D :D
Which begs the Question, Who would ,or could buy that brands, and right now would anyone want to.

Cast our minds back to Nigel Broakes from Traf House when they wanted to buy QE2, They couldnt buy the QE2,instead  they had to buy Cunard
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
 you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!

For those of us who are members of Liners List, the entire article is quoted there, together with some comments and updates from Jonathan Boonzaier, one of the authors of the article, whom I would regard to be a trustworthy reporter.

https://groups.io/g/LinersList/topic/carnival_believed_to_be/75878965?p=,,,50,0,0,0::recentpostdate%2Fsticky,,,50,2,0,75878965

Cunard have apparently said, after the article was written, that Cunard belongs to their core business and is not for sale... to be taken with a pinch of salt.

If it had first been reported on Facebook, through the grapevine so to speak, then it would be a lot easier to dismiss...

Again time will tell whether there is anything to this rumour or if it is just that, a rumour. Both Carnival UK's refuting of the rumour and the rumour itself should both be taken with a pinch of salt!

Their Twitter account is replying to pretty much everyone that mentions it to deny the rumour.

I guess the question is - why on earth would you purchase a cruise line right now?
Yes you might get it for a "knock down" price but there surely isnt much hope of making any money from your purchase for some time to come!

You might, however, want to see one or two in order to stem your losses...?
