June 2020 : Surprise
« on: Jun 02, 2020, 06:41 PM »
The theme for this month's photo competition is the "Surprise", chosen by Frazscot, the winner of the February 2020 competition.

Looking forward to your surprising photos! All sorts of surprises are expected :) .

Enjoy the search :) .

The prize this month is the book The Story of Saga Rose & Saga Ruby by Anders Johannessen, donated by me (photo below). Alternatively, June Ingram is offering a jigsaw of the prizewinning picture. The choice is yours -- which will it be?

How to enter

The album is open -- so now is the time to look for your three most interesting pictures on this theme. Wishing you happy memories as you search your photo collection to find up to three pictures to upload to the competition album.

This link will take you straight there : Surprise.

If you have not uploaded photos to the Forum Gallery before, have a look at these instructions, and if you have any problems, just contact us on admin@theqe2story.com. You could even email the photos to this address, and we can upload them for you.

The deadline for submitting photos is 30 June 2020. Voting will run from 1 July 2020 until 31 July 2020, until everyone's time zone has caught up with the date.

We look forward to seeing your photos in this month's competition.

This is the ninth month of photos for the 2021 calendar. Maybe your photo will figure there!

Enjoy yourselves!  :)

9 photos uploaded so far, and quite different takes on the theme of "Surprise".

This could lead to a wonderful collection of rather surprising photos -- looking forward to them all!

There are 19 photos uploaded now -- but I imagine there should be plenty more around...

What surprised you might not surprise us -- but it is your own surprise that counts!

There are still three or four days left for you to find up to three photos for this theme, starting with tomorrow (Sunday!). Looking forward to seeing them all.

That is a gorgeous and extraordinary picture! I would be happy to see that in a picture gallery -- or alternatively as a jigsaw :) . What a pity that it arrived just too late to be entered for the photo competition!

Wow!  I genuinely can't tell - is that a painting, or a photo!?

While trying to find where it had gone, I clicked on something that killed the forum for a while - apologies for that!

The like button is back now :)

Absolutely wonderful photo! Great atmosphere! I agree that it would make a great jigsaw. She's in her late November 1983 to October 1986 configuration here, the last configuration under steam power.
First sailed on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last stepped foot and sailed on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw the seagoing QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008. Visited QE2, in her new life, in Dubai back in January 2020.
