Hope nobody on this evening's call mind me posting these screenshots of our chat.

Great fun, and the idea for everyone to bring along a bit of memorobilia worked well.

The Zoom Chat has just ended. Another great video call, this time sharing our memorabilia and the stories associated with the items that hold a lot of sentimental value to us :)

The screenshots are a good record of the chat, Rob.
First sailed on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last stepped foot and sailed on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw the seagoing QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008. Visited QE2, in her new life, in Dubai back in January 2020.

The screen shots are great.
It was really good to join you all tonight and interesting to hear the chat and see the memorabilia. Until next week 🙂

Thoroughly enjoyed the Zoom chat yesterday evening and especially enjoyed hearing everyone talk about an item or two of memorabilia. Should we continue with the memorabilia theme next week or pick up on another theme.

Here are a couple of links to topics on the forum to two of the things we talked about.

I had mentioned that I had scanned the Cunard Press Release April 1967 and you can download this as an attachment from the
QE2 Publications and Memorabilia section

We also had some discussion on QE2 Golf Clubs, it is worthwhile have a read (or reading again) this fantastic account from Paul Ableson, who was responsible the golf club project.  He posts his story, with fabulous photos over several topics posts Read from the start of his story

PS:  I forgot to say - what a fabulous moment when Thomas had a background photo of himself in the bridge when he was younger, then Bob C produced a photo of himself at about the same age on the bridge, steering the ship! Only through the QE2 Story could you get people to connect QE2 Story memories in this way.

Although it took me a while to connect to the chat it was very much worth it as the various items and their memories recalled better times from the past, I would like to have one more memorabilia chat as I'm sure there is more to come !!
Y'all take care,
Peter

Rod, we even got to see a companion to your silver dish commemorating Philadelphia!

This dish, which you donated, was won by Gary (Barumfox) in August last year, following our most special competition :) .

No need to bring any memorabilia, Olivia, just join in the chat. We don't all have memorabilia, but it is fun to look at each other and what people may have brought.
