April 2020 : QE2 Upper Deck
« on: Apr 05, 2020, 12:41 AM »
This month's theme is the "QE2 Upper Deck", chosen by George C Griffiths, the winner of the December 2019 competition.

Looking forward to your photos, and to imagining ourselves back in all those wonderful places on the Upper Deck. Even exterior photos are fine, provided they are of the Upper Deck!

Enjoy the search :) .

The prize this month is the Isle of Man special set of stamps depicting the Queen Victoria, donated by Lynda Bradford.

Alternatively, June Ingram is offering a jigsaw of the prizewinning picture. The choice is yours -- which will it be?

How to enter

The album is open -- so now is the time to look for your three most interesting pictures on this theme. Wishing you happy memories as you search your photo collection to find up to three pictures to upload to the competition album.

This link will take you straight there : QE2 Upper Deck.

If you have not uploaded photos to the Forum Gallery before, have a look at these instructions, and if you have any problems, just contact us on admin@theqe2story.com. You could even email the photos to this address, and we can upload them for you.

The deadline for submitting photos is 2 May 2020. Voting will run from 3 May 2020 until 31 May 2020.
Note: Extended deadline date

We look forward to seeing your photos in this month's competition.

This is the seventh month of photos for the 2021 calendar. Maybe your photo will figure there!

Enjoy yourselves!  :)

Gosh there are so many interesting places on Upper Deck, the Mauretania Restaurant, Crystal Bar, Theatre, Casino, Golden Lion, Grand Lounge, Yacht Club,  names we remember from QE2's latter years , but if you have photos of these areas in earlier years - even better.

Enjoy looking at your QE2 photo albums and selecting 3 photos to enter for the competition.

Have delved into past memories and one thing led to another so it took a long time to make my final selection.
There was one that I wanted to put in but I changed my mind at the last minute.......I'm not going to tell you what I rejected or what one nearly got left out !!!!
Good luck to everyone and I'm looking forward to seeing all the entries.

Thanks Frazscot for taking time to look at your photo collection and upload your three pictures to the completion.

Looking forward to seeing lots more pictures of QE2 Upper Deck. I have uploaded my 3 photos.

Just uploaded. A good trip down memory lane.
First sailed on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last stepped foot and sailed on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw the seagoing QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008. Visited QE2, in her new life, in Dubai back in January 2020.

My three are in!  I had too many to choose from this month, so picked the first three I found.
