Voting is quite close with 3 photos in the lead.  Good time to cast your vote to make sure your favourite picture is the winner.

Still 19 voters. Please vote. There are two more days left before the poll closes. I think our minds are elsewhere, but looking at the awesome QE2 photos will take us back to happier times !

Just under two days left to vote.

We are still at 19 voters, and three photos in equal lead, with one more following immediately behind. Your vote is very likely to be decisive! Please use the opportunity to vote and show your appreciation to the photographers.

Well, we ended up with still 19 voters.

There are three winners and one very close runner-up -- that must be another Forum record!

Now the competition is over i can post this.

You know that a cruise line has hit rock bottom when they start holding Art Auctions!!

I've met some very dodgy Art Auctioneers in my time, many who would make Arthur Daily look honest!

I remember on Caronia/Vistafjord we had an Art Auctioneer who had to pay 2 Filipino Utilities $10 an hour to bring his paintings up from his store 5 decks down, set them all up, then wait and take them all back down again, this came out of his own pocket. So 3 hours per session x 2 Filipinos = $60, x 10 = $600
When we were on a 6 week cruise with 2 auctions a week  - but non in the first week because he couldn't organise himself to get the paintings up in time, hence the 2 Utilities.

His sales for the cruise amounted to ZERO, zilch, nothing not a c, let alone a dollar!

When he left the ship in S'ton he was almost in tears and to add to that  had to organise his own painting off load as the Utilities were worknig on turn around!

Not that i laughed of course!!!

What a beautiful surprise to received such an interesting parcel.    It’s not every day you get a parcel tied up with string !!!    Inside was that wonderful book about the QE2 that I started reading right away and lo and behold on page 72 was a picture of “my” stairway !!!                Also on page 26 is our table in the Queens Grill.........ah happy days indeed.
A big thank you for something I will always treasure.  X

Very good to read that you received the prize, despite the problems of the world today. I shall convey your thanks to my sister Pia, who donated the book. Glad you are enjoying it!

How wonderful it was to receive my prize book especially as it was so beautifully wrapped and tied up with string.  How often do you ever get a parcel tied up with string nowadays ?
It is indeed a wonderful book and one I will always treasure especially as it contains a picture of "my" stairway and also our favourite table in the Queen Grill.
Thank you very much for this superb momento of my favourite ship.
