Queen Mary 2 - Dawn arrival to New York
« on: Feb 08, 2020, 04:45 PM »
Queen Mary 2 arriving to New York in the early hours of the morning, passing under the Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Seeing the Staten Island Ferry passing the Statue of Liberty, also the Norwegian Escape cruise ship sailing by. Then the Manhattan skyline & Brooklyn with a beautiful sunrise, all filmed from our balcony on Deck 12 aboard Queen Mary 2. Hope it brings back a memory or two for some folks.

It does, BUT to turn right at Liberty and dock l would feel cheated , it was always nice to sail up the Hudson and dock where the action was  ;)
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!

YES :) i sure do, the gangway is connected , your already cleared the formalities onboard and skip down the gangway right into the heart of the action , none of this docking in some Ghetto area  waiting to catch a bus and navigate the traffic and arrive in Mid Town in time for lunch...
Wakening up and being on deck to actually sail up The Hudson River a gentle docking , my first time in 1986 was spellbinding. Of course im sure sailing away on QM2 is equally nice for those that dont know any better.
