Is it safe to travel to Dubai? (January 2020)

QE2 gets a look in on this article, even if accidentally.

But cruising from Dubai does get mentioned.

I'm guessing QE2 isn't a potential target because she's no longer owned by the US or UK... Even though she's iconically British...

We are due to transit through Dubai next month, and stay on QE2, we currently plan to continue with these plans, but will keep up to date with events/advice.

I have a new project kick off meeting in Dubai - date not yet confirmed but will probably be Feb - was hoping to stay aboard QE2 during this stay.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks for offering to keep us up to date Alex.

We will be in transit through Dubai next month and I am a bit concerned but will keep watching travel advice.

Hope your stay onboard QE2 goes ahead Gav.

I am staying onboard QE2 at the end of this month so will feedback too if things develop further.
First travelled on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last stepped foot and travelled on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008 - we had the better view!

Very concerning. Things could escalate quickly as UK Gov travel advice to the UAE also states. Iran has also launched two separate missile attacks on US bases in Iraq with the consequences not clear at the time of writing.

Occurs to me that certain Twitter users should keep their mouths shut! Bad enough that during the Gulf war the Iraquis depended on CNN to know where the US forces were!
