Poll for the September Competition topic
« on: Aug 05, 2019, 09:54 PM »
Thank you to everyone who suggested topics for our very special photo competition, which will take place in September. In order to prepare for this special month,

--> please vote for the three topics which you feel will attract a maximum number of participating photos.

The topic gathering most votes will be the topic for which a very special prize awaits :) .

We can announce two very special prizes. The first of these will be for the person whose topic is chosen in this poll. The prize is a silver dish donated by Rod, commemorating QE2's participation in the festivities in Philadelphia (1682-1982).

Rod has promised to polish it before sending it to the prizewinner!

The winner of the September competition itself, i.e. the first month of photo competitions for the 2021 (!) calendar, will receive the main special prize :

Commodore Ron Warwick is donating a signed copy of his new book co-authored with Sam Warwick:

QE2: The Cunard Line Flagship, Queen Elizabeth 2

https://www.theqe2story.com/forum/index.php?topic=4099.msg102826#msg102826

with a special bookplate, signed by himself and Sam, and with a copy of Bil Warwick's signature :

And so, the choice of the theme for September is very important! The poll will stay open for two weeks only, so please make sure you vote and give the proposer of the best topic the chance to win Rod's silver dish!

I have chosen the three I think would generate good, interesting pictures, but a difficult decision as so many good themes have been suggested.

Fantastic prize for the winning theme, thanks to Rod

Thanks Isabelle for setting up the poll

Quite an unusual topic in that while it might appear an open vote, we are in effect voting for a topic that we think we might have a photo to enter the comp with .

My votes are cast !  Every topic is certainly deserving of a whole competition on its own !  Which topic will generate the most photos ?   :)

Which in turn could encourage more entries!

I've just voted - although I picked one that I thought just about anyone could enter (as long as they've seen QE2 somewhere)

Hi Everyone.. Like many of us all these days in being so busy I've just not been logging in enough recently but, I'm delighted to add my votes this this subject.

So, I have now voted and it was a difficult choice from so many great subjects.. Of course I could not resist one self interested option but, the others I chose I hope will also generate pictures from as many people as possible.

I really enjoy scrolling through the posts when I do sign in so, I would just like to give my thanks for the great work to all who those who are so involved in making this such a great web site and keeping the memories so alive for so many. Thank you.!

Great to see you logged in to the forum again John and pleased to know you still enjoy scrolling through the posts.  It is always good to know that the efforts of the QE2 Story team are appreciated - it is a labour of love keeping the memory of QE2 alive.

Twenty-four people have voted so far, but as we would like to have a record number of voters choosing the topic, please vote if you have not already done so!

It is great to see that not a single topic remains without a vote.

Thank you to everyone who proposed topics, and I look forward to setting up the September competition with the topic you will have chosen!
