July 2019 : So QE2!
« on: Jul 02, 2019, 10:43 PM »
This month's theme is "So QE2!", chosen by Caledonia, the winner of the March 2019 competition. Looking forward to your photos, and to reliving memories of this ship, who had so much character!

It will be interesting to see the variety of pictures expressing this theme. Enjoy the competition and the memories :) !

The prize this month is the book The Liner by Philip Dawson, donated by Pete Cain.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Liner-Retrospective-Renaissance-P-Dawson/dp/0393061663/

Alternatively, June Ingram is offering a jigsaw of the prizewinning picture. The choice is yours -- which will it be?

How to enter

The album is open -- so now is the time to look for your three most interesting pictures on this theme. Wishing you happy memories as you search your photo collection to find up to three pictures to upload to the competition album.

This link will take you straight there : So QE2!.

If you have not uploaded photos to the Forum Gallery before, have a look at these instructions, and if you have any problems, just contact us on admin@theqe2story.com. You could even email the photos to this address, and we can upload them for you.

The deadline for submitting photos is 31 July 2019. Voting will run from 1 August 2019 until 31 August 2019.

We look forward to seeing your photos in this month's competition.

This is the eleventh month of photos for the 2020 calendar. Maybe your photo will figure there!

Enjoy yourselves!  :)

Just contributed with some of my Dad's photos, with his permission. A great theme to choose photos for given the wide variety of photos and interpretations it allows for!
First sailed on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last stepped foot and sailed on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw the seagoing QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008. Visited QE2, in her new life, in Dubai back in January 2020.

Excellent, Myles - my "So QE2" were much more random,
although 'Totally QE2'!
(How do you get all the titles to read properly? ) ::)

QE2 had been waiting alongside in Dubai for nearly 12 years.  Please restore her Lifeboats and Tenders to where they truly belong - she looks naked without them - please spare her this ignominy.

Sometimes a vague title can result in the best selection, depending on how you are thinking
As for the tiles, l have no idea, lm just glad the photos upload, sometimes l get an error message and have to select another photo )
Trust life is treating you both well x

26 photos entered now, lots of different interpretations of the theme.

If you have QE2 photos, you can still enter up to three that make you think "So QE2!". A ship with a personality :) .

This seems more than normal..

Around average, perhaps slightly below average. But the theme this month is so generous and open, that I would love to see a large number of entries!
