Forum members have achieved so much by posting an amazing range of information and photos in the past ten years.

Congratulations to everyone involved in the success of the best QE2 forum.

Post your message to The QE2 Story and let us know why this forum is important in keeping the memory of QE2 alive:

Not enough words could explain how finding this forum kept me sane for ALL the years QE2 was in peril.
We really lived day to day didn't we?.  However all the posts, photos & links really do keep the 'Legend alive, they are part of her story & here for keeps thanks to Rob & Mods!!!!!

Happy 10th anniversary QE2 Story!

The last ten years have sure been a rollercoaster for our ship but QE2 Story has done an excellent job of keeping many of us up-to-date with QE2 even when not logged into the forum and just checking back as guests (as I have done over the years since registering in 2010). The forum's combined knowledge and the wealth of memories shared make it second to none as a QE2 group and more and more valuable as time goes on.

Why should we move on from the happy memories and amazing experiences onboard a ship that still holds several records that are not likely to be exceeded for a long time, if ever, and can still be admired in Dubai (even if we don't agree with all that's been done to her - something I am still on the fence about, for example)?
First sailed on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last sailed on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw the seagoing QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008. Visited QE2 in her new life, in Dubai, in January 2020 and August 2022.

Happy 10th Anniversary to The QE2 Story!

We follow an icon, one built here in Scotland.
Her name, known and recognised the world over.
Her beauty witnessed in just about every country of the world.
Crowds gathered to greet her arrival and their numbers swollen by the time she departed each port.
I am sure all members miss the opportunity to cruise onboard, savour her facilities and service and miss the 'family' that formed her crew.

She was the one, the only QE2.

However, although she is now resting in Dubai, we must all be grateful that this Forum has kept her spirit alive and helped us share, record and celebrate her remarkable history.

This site has become, in my opinion, the 'definitive' historical record for this great liner.

Congratulations The QE2 Story.

First of all, a BIG THANK YOU to Rob for starting this whole endeavor, without that we would be nowhere.
I DO know some of the hard work and time involved in a project like this as my wife started a vlog of her everyday experiences for a college course and that was only a three month project. The thought, the actual time, the research involved, many of us fail to appreciate what goes on behind the scenes!
Also a thanks to the MODS who keep it all sorted, who's hard work is also understated.
Thanks as well to RMS Queen Elizabeth 2 for staying the course and being able to go through the torture and abuse she has gone through since being in the Middle East.
And finally, thanks to the Members of the Forum that contribute their thoughts, ideas and general comments that make the Forum what it is.

When I first read Lynda's newsletter I actually had a lump in the throat. The forum made awesome things happen, and made some awesome friendships.

Tears in my eyes and a big Lump in my throat - then thoughts of feeling not just how Fortunate we are, also Extremely Grateful too.
Lynda, Isabelle and Rob - you've got to be the best Crew Members QE2 should ever have had!

And - Rob, Happy Anniversary - Please will you have a wee dram tonight for that Robble Burns, QE2 And TQS - and perhaps All of us on board!
We Send you our very many heartfelt thanks - and I definitely haven't forgotten that I owe you a hat!

Congratulations to our beloved QE2 ! - the reason for The QE2 Story !

Rob, no amount of congratulations and thanks can convey how much all of us here appreciate your time, talent, and efforts in setting up The QE2 Story and Forum !

Many thanks for all who have had a hand in keeping it running smoothly over the years and to those who are doing it now !

QE2, the best ship the world has ever seen or ever will, deserves the best Forum, and The QE2 Story and Forum are indeed the best one out there for our QE2 !  Those who have a true interest in QE2 and a true love for QE2 have come together to join forces as one big, international QE2 family !

This site has become a repository of first hand sources, information, and remembrances that cannot be rivaled nor duplicated.  May it continue for many, many years to come, as it is the place to be for all things QE2 !

June you had mentioned on the January Newsletter topic that the link to the January newsletter celebrating The QE2 Story's tenth anniversary, should be added to this topic.

No sooner said than done!  :)

To me, this forum has combined the best source of information available on the status of QE2, especially during those ‘dark’ years, with a fun community, focussed on keeping our memories of this great ship alive.

We have just stayed aboard for ten days and my overwhelming feeling is that the ship is a survivor, she’s made of Clydebank steel, not cotton wool and whatever the whys and woes of her current situation, she’s not done yet!

This is an amazing community, Lynda’s newsletter was a tour de force, here’s to the next ten years!!!

Thank you to Rob and the team for your amazingness...

Thank you...

Alex

Congratulations to The QE2 Story for reaching an amazing 10 years.

I first stumbled across the forum while looking for something about QE2.
I was totally amazed by what I found. Technical information, historical information and more importantly real passenger, crew and  enthusiast recollections and memories. And the photos . . . . wow!

Outstanding job Rob on your creation - and an outstanding community  contributing to it.

Long may it continue. Here's to the next 10!

A bit late to the thread, but can only echo what others have said on here already.

The forum has been a fantastic resource, both at exploring her great history and at keeping informed during the dark years. Safe to say I would never have visited her without this Forum!

So congratulations to Rob, Lynda, and everyone else who's called this Forum home for the last 10 years!
