Hmm. Filling it with concrete isn't the sort of preservation I had in mind.

If QE2 was somewhere more appropriate, people would have been interested to see this boat intact.

No, no, and more no. This is appalling. Concrete (alkaline) will destroy the lifeboat from the inside out over time too if my science is correct. Having said that they've destroyed it already. They have no idea, but not surprising really...

First sailed on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last sailed on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw the seagoing QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008. Visited QE2 in her new life, in Dubai, in January 2020 and August 2022.

WWHHAAATT?
This is absolutely dreadful - Bad enough for the fast boats to be cut off from their proper place on the ship...and now, to go to the trouble of making it sinkable... How totally inappropriate is that.

Here we are beavering away trying to uncover the true story of the rescue boats in that topic above, and they're filling the real boat up to the brim with concrete.
