The theme for the March competition "QE2 from a distance" was chosen by Rob Lightbody, the winner of the December competition.

Thank you to everyone who submitted pictures, which we really appreciate, and we hope that you enjoy choosing and voting for your 3 favourites.

Voting is easy, but you need to be registered as a Forum member and log into the Forum to vote.  Whether or not you have submitted photos, please support those who have participated, by choosing your three favourite ones, noting the details, then tick the relevant box on the poll.  If you have entered photos please do not vote for your own pictures.

To make it easier for you we have posted the pictures below, however you can also view the photos in the Gallery, where you can see them all at once, in thumbnail form, plus you can view larger versions of the pictures by clicking on the photo to see medium size, then click again, to see them in large size.

Go to the Gallery Album "QE2 from a distance".

You will not see the result until after the poll has closed on 1 May 2018 giving all time zones the chance to catch up with the voting deadline.

As always the choice is yours - enjoy!

Goodness me - even when disregarding one's own pictures it's still difficult because there's so many...  one more entry and we could have made a "week to view" calendar just from this lot!

Second that! Although my own photos (not my Dad's photos this time) are not great!

Thomas, one of them caught my eye anyway.

This is in no way aimed at you based on your comment, which, for the record, doesn't do yourself justice, but I always take the picture even if I know it is going to be duff.
For example, right into the sun with lens flares all over the place of a subject I am only going to get one chance to take. I just think it is better to take the poor picture and have some sort of record than not take the picture at all.
I never delete anything from my camera. I always download everything to my PC so I know that however poor the picture is, I still have it for reference.
Given a bit of time with photoshop, some of the old duffers have turned out OK and I would have been sorry if I hadn't taken the shot.

Likewise I take loads of photos (if the device or camera has the storage space though!) for the record too! Never deleting the (in my case many) duds either and backing them up like you. I am currently on a photography course and despite my strong IT interest and working in IT I haven't really used Photoshop or equivalents much, but the photography course teacher has encouraged me too as a way to enhance my photos within reason of course! I could probably enhance my own QE2 photos (mainly through colour balancing as the compact camera I was using doesn't have accurate colour). I advocate backing up (from working in IT where backups are very important) online and on different computers or a portable hard drive.

I know we have all been engaged with our beloved QE2's expected opening as an hotel in Dubai (myself included).

But let's not forget to vote in this month's photo competition.  It also gives us a chance to view many spectacular photos of our beloved ship in all her glory !

 :) :)

Thanks for the reminder!

I've submitted my photos for this month's competition, and voted for last months - very tough to choose!!
