Just for interest. How many of us have been fare paying passengers, guests, or ex-crew onboard QE2?

Hey Beardy Rich,

It's a really interesting idea for a poll!
Do you think it too late to add Crew-Members, Officers, Consultants, Staff - as in non-crew-members, Cunard staff(shore-side), and interested people who weren't able to sail onboard QE2?

Many thanks,
Rosie
QE2 had been waiting alongside in Dubai for nearly 12 years.  Please restore her Lifeboats and Tenders to where they truly belong - she looks naked without them - please spare her this ignominy.

Done. I am assuming that whoever clicked "ex-crew" was "crew" at the time, and therefore the votes are still correct?

It now also allows a maximum of 3 votes per person -- if anyone needs more, please say so!

What about those that once boarded as a "supplier"?

In 1989  l was offered a cruise courtesy of a friend who was a supplier to Cunard and hence my ticket had the code in the top right corner(marked with red). Having returned in August from a 15 night Transatlantic and Canada cruise l did what any decent person would do, accepted right away and put it on visa, well it was too good a chance to say No, and as it happened it was a fun cruise... ;)

Myles, this got me thinking of one of my times watching the ship come into New York.  While I was on the pier in Manhattan back in April 2008, waiting for friends to come off, I ended up chatting with a vendor who was waiting to board to fix one of the GPS units that had gone down.  We were onthe top deck of the pier, sitting in our cars and killing time.  He noticed I had a whiet coat with the Cunard logo on it and at first thiught I was an  employee...I wish!  Since the ship was late due to first loosing all power just out of Ft. Lauderdale, and then the thick fog, we chatted for a long time.  I, of course, told him it was going to kill me to see the ship and not be able to board her.  He then proceeded to ask me if by chance I had my passport.  Apparently, if I had, he would have brought me along with him to help him load his gear!  No passport=no entry to technically a bit of the UK in NYC.  :(

Hi Rosie, glad you liked the idea of a poll. The options have now been amended (by someone???)to include consultants and shore-side staff.

Hi Isabelle, it was me that clicked 'ex-crew' so the votes are still correct. Thanks for amending the poll options to include contractors, shore-side staff etc.

I was only ever a passenger -- but what amazing times those were!

Never managed to get into any of the "real" crew areas... but did take a stroll around the doggy deck and enjoyed the adventure!

Passengers had a wonderful time on the QE2! But there was always that tiny tinge of envy, when we had to leave, for those who stayed and continued on board...
