'The Swallow Bird'

For some months there has been a structure aft of the Funnel Bar area on Sun Deck which turned out to be a green screen for some filming on board QE2 and today we learned about that filming:

Al Sununu, or The Swallow Bird in English, is a drama series that has completed filming on board the QE2, which is docked in Dubai.

The Arabic series was shot almost fully on board the cruise ship, which has been docked at Rashid Port since 2018.

It includes a diverse cast representing more than eight nationalities on board, including Britishers, Filipinos, and a number from the Arab world. The storyline is focused on personal stories, depicting the dynamics of raw human behaviour, inter-cultural connections and more.

The 30-episode drama series is scheduled for release before 2022.
