Rob on your photo here https://flic.kr/p/dULrgZ from your visit on April 2011
show the workshops still full with tools and maschines.

All these workshops are been cleared out and those old pipes been removed
The same is happening along Six Deck pipes wise

That workshop pic reminds me of the whaling station at Grytvikken!   Like somebody blew a whistle and abandon ship,

Work on QE2 at the Dry Docks is around the clock.....

Not surprising, partly given the amount of work to complete in the 2 weeks. They work very quickly!!
First sailed on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last sailed on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw the seagoing QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008. Visited QE2 in her new life, in Dubai, in January 2020 and August 2022.

So refreshing to see her again clean and tidy after sooooo many years of uncertainty.

Well done new owners and workers! Wishing you all the best.

I did say that we should give her owners a second chance and now they are proving it

I remember saying the same thing once upon a time and not being believed...

She's always had the same ultimate owners, through everything.

Her first managers looked after her well.

I can't say anything polite about her second managers.

Her third managers appear to have been consistently focused on their end goal, and carried it through. I'm waiting to see what she's like on board to give my final judgement. I do not agree with some of what they've done externally, and therefore expect the same on board, but this current team are going to be the team that achieved what none of the previous ones had.
