It is nice to see her surrounded by all those low boats and ships, allowing her to stand out and look regal. If this is how she is likely to be surrounded in future too, that will be to her great advantage.

It is only going to get better

Awesome photo, and yes it's a good setting with the yachts and boats around.  She's now spent 20% of her life afloat on or around that port.
Passionate about QE2's service life for 40 years and creator of this website.  I have worked in IT for 28 years and created my personal QE2 website in 1994.

Hey, here are some pictures I took of her today. It is a lot more relaxed here now, and I could walk right up to her bow without being told off, I also took some close up pictures and a video which I will post later. Her superstructure was being painted and in some of my pictures you can see workers painting her. I walked into the terminal and had a nice look around. It seems her opening day will now be on the 20th of March (18 days away!) I will go on that day and take lots of pictures for the group here! So excited that she will finally open here!

She looks far better than she did during the cold layup (much cleaner).
First sailed on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last sailed on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw the seagoing QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008. Visited QE2 in her new life, in Dubai, in January 2020 and August 2022.

Thank you for being our eyes and ears in Dubai, and your excellent photos plus videos - Liam  :) . Seems as though fairly major work is still ongoing as I could hear what sounds like an axle grinder tool in the background of your video.

When people see these exterior photos of QE2 or nearby areas they dont know the amount of work that is been done every day.I have been contacted to Port Rashid since her arrival what was then and what is now its a huge progress.
