Wow! I can't believe that a document like this actually exists!

Looking at this makes me think of what could have happened had the ship not been sold to Dubai. Most likely, had this voyage occurred, I would have made the trip out to Los Angeles to see the ship in person.

Thank you for sharing this document with us, Michael!

The most interesting thing is that it ended in Southampton on 2 May 2009 - the 40th anniversary of her first departure for New York. We did have brief conversations about repeating the crossing (2 - 7 May) for the anniversary which would have made it the fastest crossing since 1996 and the fastest of the 21st Century - a record that could have stood for decades!

Ah the usual placeholder Latin!
First sailed on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last stepped foot and sailed on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw the seagoing QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008. Visited QE2, in her new life, in Dubai back in January 2020.

Too bad it didn’t happen for QE2. What fun it would have been!

Thanks, Michael.

And the fact that there were plans indicates that it should have happened !  :'(

In some way though, Trevor - QE2 did have rather a good World Cruise in 2009
and yes, it was great fun...until the navigator got lost!

QE2 had been waiting alongside in Dubai for nearly 12 years.  Please restore her Lifeboats and Tenders to where they truly belong - she looks naked without them - please spare her this ignominy.
