I am sure Rob remembers this area you took a photo here back in April 2011,this photo is from December 2016.

So I did!

The wooden cases on the floor are even still there.

IF she is being partially converted into a hotel then l wonder at what stage they will be looking to accept bookings or what about a soft opening with invited guests to test the system ? before it all goes live. with any task of opening a new/converted hotel on a large scale  the last thing you want to do is open to paying guests and for things not to be working.

Of course if shes not going to be a hotel  ..... ::)

Generally with such hotel openings there is usually some hype to create a buzz. Lets hope the way QE2 has been handled they dont create another set of "oh here we go again" .Its all very well saying nothing during the transformation process, but as the process nears the end you do need to create some interest in what the guest can be expected to see, feel and experience

Granted  it might not be on a Vegas scale of hype and sensation blasting but when they open the grande mega structures they do it with a certain style and wow factor.

Why for once don't they show some imagination, instead of being forever alongside (when she is finally finally definitively  finished)
anchor her in the centre of the maria or even further out, & let the minted guests arrive by her own tenders, let em see & gawp in amazement at her bulk, she might even just every so often get a little movement with the swell.
Also peeps would see her at all angles from said tenders, am sure leccy water & sewage could be sorted what's not to like  :-X

Nice idea Pete
Might be difficult to provide services, we always thing of Electric Water etc but its sewage removal that  would be most difficult
