Log of QE2 Story Forum member meet ups.
« on: Jul 26, 2009, 11:55 PM »
Have you met another QE2 Story Forum member or members, someone that you wouldn't have met if it wasn't for the forum?

Tell us about it here!  When did it happen?  Where?

Please don't use this to arrange potential meetups, as then it will be too hard to follow...

Thanks!

.... and I will start by saying that I met Isabelle and Ali (singlemalt) on 19th-21st June in Glasgow.  We had a blast, visiting the Titan Crane, Roganos, John Browns, and various other drinking and eating venues.  I think we all enjoyed it, and it was the first time that Ali and Is met, having met online through this forum.

I've also now (yesterday - Sunday) met Myles (CunardQueen).  Quite possibly the most amazing QE2 person I've met!  This man is a walking talking QE2 memory trove of brilliant stories of the ship in her heydey and more recently and has an amazing QE2 museum of fascinating bits and bobs to back it up.  Absolutely fascinating.  Great to meet you finally Myles.  Now write that book and post that photo :)

I hope that many people have many more meetings through the forum.

..And in return l have just met Rob, which was a great delight after all this time and so many near misses or is it near hits? An utter joy to share some tales  & have a laugh ;)  Who would have thought all those years ago, as you walked down the gangway after a very unique and rare QE2 voyage l would be walking up the gangway for what was another "interesting" voyage
I take my hat off to you Rob for the dedication shown in your websites, and congratulate you for bringing the QE2 family closer together in this home. Each and every one of us have our own memories of the Grand Dame of the high seas and to be able to go into the bank of memories and to recall and share these with like minded people is a delight. Untill the QE2story came along, l was surprised just how much had remained locked away
Im just so pleased that the long thick chrome bar was the wheel lock for  your car, my mind was starting to go into overdrive when you produced it...
 Cheers

  Myles
The photo will go up in due course :).. the book :-\

From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!

We'd already met you before the Forum -- so you're cheating!!   :P

But the Forum did figure very prominently in our conversations  ;D ...

You still alive, Rob? Sure? Then we'll have to try again another time   8)

By the way, it's worth looking at the original version of this photo, if only for the text and comments!
