Cutting from the Daily Telegraph (UK). I don't have the year, but think probably 1976.

It happened several times, i remember once, on one ship, the Technical Stores Manager and a Waiter 'doubled up'  for a 14 day cruise and received a nice little bonus! What was even more beneficial for them was that they were Man & Wife, he being the waiter and she being the Technical Stores Manager!  A nicel ittle earner and it went towards their deposit to buy a house.
