It really had to be that one! Well done John - a cracker! And to Isabelle. That one captures the scene very well.

Congratulations, John! A great picture showing QE2 at speed.

Thank you also for your votes. This was the penultimate westbound Atlantic crossing of QE2, and we started in a fine storm. QE2 motored on undeterred, and we enjoyed the strength of the Atlantic waves against which she pushed so well.

Congratulations to Cunarder Man, whose winning photo so well captures what QE2 did so well, so sure of herself in her element !

And congratulations to Isabelle, whose runner up photo also captures our QE2 undeterred by the elements.

And many thanks to all who submitted photos, each and every one conveying special thoughts and feelings about our beloved ship !

Thank you all for your kind comments, she is indeed a Bonnie Boat!!!
Congratulations to Isabelle as runner up and to all other entrants.

Bonnie Boat was captured on 30 April 2004, probably south of the Scilly Isles from the deck of QM2 on her maiden eastbound transatlantic voyage. It was forever a privilege to admire QE2 cut through the Atlantic waves; it was always very special to spend time on any deck of QE2.

Congratulations to Hamburger, who this month provided both the winner and the runner -up!

In both these pictures, QE2 is photographed with another icon of her travels : the Forth Bridge in the first, and the Verrazano Bridge in the second.

Big Forth-Bridge and QE2

QE2 and Verrazano-Bridge

For good measure, Cruiseqe2 is the second runner-up, with the third iconic bridge in QE2's life, the 25 April Bridge is Lisbon :

A sunny day in Lisbon!

Congratulations to Hamburger for the winning photo and the first runner up photo.  And congratulations to Cruiseqe2 for the second runner up photo.  All three photos are magnificent with our beautiful QE2 adding grace and majesty to the three bridges in the photos.

Many thanks to all who submitted photos.  Each and every one has a story to tell and holds a special place in the hearts of those taking the photos and those looking at the photos !

Congratulations to Cruiseqe2 for his beautiful and atmospheric picture "Bye Bye, My Beautiful Lady", taken on QE2's last day in Southampton, the winner of the May 2017 competition :

Shipnshore is the runner-up with this lovely view of "QE2 alongside on Southampton Water", bathed in the late afternoon sunlight at the Queen Elizabeth II terminal :

Thank you also to everyone else who submitted pictures, and to the 19 voters who expressed their appreciation by joining the poll.
