I would love to hear more from Louis-Philippe about how his fabulous picture was made... this must have taken weeks, if not months, of preparation...

The October competition, on the theme of "Legend", brought us some wonderful winning photos.

The clear winner was Cunarder Man with his picture "A True Legend".

Very different, and equally illustrative of the theme, was the runner-up, Pete Hamill, with "Symmetry" :

Once again, the competition brought in a range of beautiful photos on a theme dear to our hearts here in this Forum. Congratulations and thanks to all who entered pictures and all who voted!

Congratulations John.

That photo says it all.

Thanks Pete & June and to all who voted!

The photograph was taken in August 2004 in Malaga whilst on a cruise to the Med. I have used the picture as a screen saver for sometime and just love to see her when I turn on the PC.

There are always magnificent pictures posted in the monthly competition and I would encourage everyone to have a go.

Thanks again

Congratulations to Harev . Goodness, with so many other nicer pitures lm honoured to be a runner up.For what its worth, This pic was taken on the Final eastbound crossing. A large group of us had just completed the cabin cavalcade and l was heading through the Queens room as it was being set up for the Mauretania Captains reception. It doesnt show the staff re aranging the seats, or the room being curtained off, l literally stopped took  photo of the lights, switched the camera to another mode to take the B&W photo (now why take a B&W photo of coloured lights l ask you ) then back to the cabin to change for my last ever Captains Reception party. Shelia pictured along with myself were on the Chief Engineers table and had enoyed the company of our previous nights host, Tonights host had no idea what he was infor. It was a fun table for the homeward crossing. The Queens Room was positively buzzing that night, and yet only a short time before had been a quiet haven. Alas the party for me was coming to a final and very sad end.
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,

Thanks very much, Myles, for sharing the story and the photos.  Actually the black and white photo is very striking.  Sometimes a black and white photo can say as much if not more than a colour photo.  Yes, a final and very sad end which seems more sad as time goes by.

Congratulations, John! A great picture showing QE2 at speed.

Thank you also for your votes. This was the penultimate westbound Atlantic crossing of QE2, and we started in a fine storm. QE2 motored on undeterred, and we enjoyed the strength of the Atlantic waves against which she pushed so well.

Congratulations to Isabelle as runner up and to all other entrants.

Bonnie Boat was captured on 30 April 2004, probably south of the Scilly Isles from the deck of QM2 on her maiden eastbound transatlantic voyage. It was forever a privilege to admire QE2 cut through the Atlantic waves; it was always very special to spend time on any deck of QE2.

In both these pictures, QE2 is photographed with another icon of her travels : the Forth Bridge in the first, and the Verrazano Bridge in the second.

Congratulations on the winning stairwell photo.
It must be said, the stairwell photos are always beautiful, But prior to the ghastly silver handrail being added they were very soothing on the eye. Those of us who remember the days before the addition will also marvel and just how low the stair rail actually was. and how no one ever fell over them during a storm. They were very low indeed  :o
The photo shown should give an idea of how low they were before the addition.

Crew having fun was certainly a fun theme for the July competition that resulted in excellent pictures being uploaded.

and the joint winners are ........

and Cunarder Man's "Crossing the Line"

Very close contest and a difficult choice as we have four runners up this month:

Baked Alaska Dinner: Hugh Ritchie

Dubai having fun outside the Queens Grill: Rob Lightbody

Thomas! : Cruiseqe2

Crew Viewing Gallery: Cunarder Man

I'm delighted to be a joint winner!

I don't always have a photo suitable to enter with, and I'm usually reluctant to use my Dubai photos as it seems unfair somehow, but I couldn't resist with those photos!

Congratulations to fellow winners! Yet again, there were many great entries this month.

The picture 'Crossing the Line' was taken on the World cruise in 2002 in the Indian Ocean. King Neptune had said his piece and with the initiation of the Pollywogs to Shellbacks over the fun began. There was so much gunge splashed about the swimming pool it was emptied and washed afterwards. I've never seen such a mess on the aft deck. However, the crew had it cleaned up in no time at all.
