Even the queen Mary got a better deal than this mess

And shes still going, attracting a new audience and still wowing the public. In spite of all the doom sayers who seem to heap doom and gloom on the old girl. Anyone who walks up the gangway cant fail to be impressed with what they see.
Ok so perhaps some things could be done differently, but thats life.
Can we really see QE2 spending more time in Dubai that she ever did on the North Atlantic.
I might have just returned from Las Vegas, but even l know thats not worth taking a gamble on.
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!

Myles, I admire & respect your positive attitude, God knows there has to be some of it around, I guess I must be one of the doomsters, not willingly but, with the hindsight of 'what might've been'. It goes without saying we all want the best for 'our girl' , but 'our girl' is theirs, to the victor belong the spoils as they say,.
However, with the davits & boats having left the nest for good, stuff leaving the dockside, & whatever nasty surprises waiting to be disclosed regarding her interiors, I earnestly need some of your Mojo        Pete..

Thanks, Davina, for posting these photos and to Sven for taking them.

With each photo we see of the lifeboats, they look more and more damaged from the sun and the heat.

It is curious that two are missing...

The fact that any of the lifeboats are still there leaves a glimmer of hope that one day they might go back aboard and make her look like her old self again!

Looks like the 1 Deck pool is gone too.  I haven't checked but this may be in another topic.

I think there's a post a few months ago somewhere saying it's simply been covered over but is still in situ?

Starting to look promising but I disagree with the lifeboats. Perhaps three midship lifeboats port and starboard with the decks from boat deck up extended fore and aft to full-beam would be a compromise.
