QE2 Conversion August 2015 to ?
« on: May 09, 2016, 04:43 AM »
Its now 9 Months that QE2 left the Dubai Dry Docks and was moved to Port Rashid,a lot has happened to QE2 in the last Months, contrary to her 2 years at the dry docks were nothing happened, therefore it is the ideal time to sort out a kind of timeline to make it easier to know what is going on.An further updates will be added here.

QE2 was moved from the Dubai Dry Docks on the 12th August 2015,below shows the ship 3 days later at her new berth in Port Rashid

For the last 2 weeks of August QE2 was just a lonely ghost ship with no lights and no soul around

September 2015

For the first days of this Month nothing was happening on or around the ship.Apart from the 2 security guard QE2 was a ghost ship.
Into the second week more and more movement was seen as workers around 32 of me boarded the ship to clean it and do some paint work. Most work was only confined to One and Two Decks.Bits by bits QE2 was getting attention again.

During the first days of October Captain Sergey rejoined QE2.Work onboard has been going on One and Two Deck mostly clean, painting, electric and plumbing. The Captain is staying in the Captains Cabin and this the only room onboard with power direct from Dubai Electricity company.Shore side generator supplis power only at present to One Deck and Two Deck plus a few LED string lights placed a bit around the ship

This is not good viewing Louis, it needs to be acknowleged though as part of her story, she's been trashed (I think) she's a dead ship, these videos are reminiscent of many available of USS United States, so sad.
I only hope the smattering of people working on her at the moment can perhaps arrest some of the obvious decay, thankyou for posting..

Below is some photos from onboard taken in October 2015,conditions onboard was not easy with most of the ship in black out and the extreme heat inside. On one evening temperature reache the 47 degrees. Some parts of the ship was blocked of so he could not get everywhere.
