May 2016 -- QE2 maintenance work (closed)
« on: May 02, 2016, 09:42 PM »
This month's theme is "QE2 maintenance work", chosen by Peter Hamill, the winner of the February competition.

A great theme to show our respect for the crew who kept her not only seaworthy and speedy, but also spic and span, and keeping the passengers in a cocoon of luxury.

The prize this month is the book "A Photographic History of P&O", donated by the authors, Chris Frame and Rachelle Cross.

This is currently selling at GBP 16.58 on Amazon.co.uk :

Alternatively, June Ingram has offered as a prize the jigsaw version of the winning photo. It will be interesting to see which is preferred!

The album is open -  so now is the time to look for your most interesting pictures on this theme. Wishing you happy memories as you search your photo collection to find up to three pictures to upload to the competition album.

This link will take you straight there : QE2 maintenance work.

If you have not uploaded photos to the Forum Gallery before, have a look at these instructions, and if you have any problems, just contact us on admin@theqe2story.com. You could even email the photos to this address, and we can upload them for you.

The deadline for submitting photos is 31 May 2016. Voting will run from 1 June 2016 until 30 June 2016.

We look forward to seeing your photos in this month's competition.

This is the ninth month of photos for the 2017 calendar. Maybe your picture will be there!

Enjoy yourselves!  :)

Some good photos being entered for QE2 maintenance work theme.  Keep those entries coming there must be lots of photos taken of the crew carrying out maintenance and there is a chance of winning a prize for the winning entry (see above for details).

17 photos entered so far. I am sure there must be plenty more waiting to be uploaded!

We all loved to watch the beautiful work carried out on QE2 to keep her sparkling clean, tidy and above all functional.

It would be a pity to leave those photos gathering dust (maybe even literally!) if we could be admiring them here together instead :) .
