I noticed looking through a few webcams you can hardly see the bow of many of the ship these days, often just the tip.  I guess the designers push the superstructure so far forward and upwards to maximise space on cruise ships that you don't get to see much of the ship.  I was looking at current cruise ships from the Wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Cruise_ships and they don't have the long fo'c'sle deck like the QE2.

And another here :

http://shipwatcher.com/

You can set your own preferences as to which ships you want to include. Notice QE2 is there! It is the Virtual QE2 that is relayed to this site :

http://vqe2.com/

... and there is a map with the positions of very many ships :

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=http://shipwatcher.com/ShipKML.aspx

(where I sometimes find QE2 in Dubai...)

Having spent time searching for a live webcam on one of the other ships etc in Port Mina Rashid
I came across this!

Take a look further down for interesting ports, many known to QE2 - while we wait and wait and wait.......

Good find Jem

As you can see, I've done a bit of moderation magic to merge this with similar posts (thanks for the link Rosie btw, which I have deleted from your post as now superfluous)
Start every day with a smile and get it over with

Rosie,

Here's a few shots of QE2 from Queen Victoria that I caught back in March. I guess you'll be keeping an eye on Cape Town visitors for glimpses of QE2 in the future? :)

Incidentally, Sam Warwick's website also has images of the Queens meeting. http://www.qe2.org.uk

Thank you, Chris

Those webcam views - maybe qV was trying not to cry....
And maybe it was the last time that QE2 had a shower!

Yes - good thinking about the Watch in Cape Town!

The solentwaters - http://www.solentwaters.co.uk/ - website mentioned earlier in this thread has a fascinating live radio feed from the ships/pilots etc around the Solent.  Wish I'd known about it last year when QE2 was departing!  Might also be interesting for the other new Cunarders, or other interesting ships.
Passionate about QE2's service life for 40 years and creator of this website.  I have worked in IT for 28 years and created my personal QE2 website in 1994.
