There are only a handful of ocean liner hotels and museums in existence. In addition to that reality, it might allow the Conservancy to formulate a plan for the SS United States Post-Crystal, should the Crystal plan go through. It would be easier to plan for a stationary role in the future without having to worry about short-term dock costs and imminent scrapping in the way. If the ship has a future service life of 20-25 years, and the Conservancy has occasional fundraisers and generates enough money from the museum, perhaps there a future after the future. That is all speculation and dreaming, but it's a cause I'd have no problem donating to.
