On this date, November 15th 165 years ago Samuel Cunard introduced his steam packet service from New York to St Thomas with a call in Bermuda both directions. Later Samuel became so upset because of lack of hotel accommodation on the Island he threatened to withdraw his ships leading to the Corporation of Hamilton Building the Hamilton Hotel. JD

One wonders what he would have made if he knew the entire fleet was now registered there...
And when was the last time a Cunard ship called into Bermuda...
In the good old days QE2 was often dispatched down there on party cruises from NY .

I was due to call there on QE2 in 1989 but it was "cancelled" the word from behind the scenes was QE2 had forgotten to be booked in.... ::)

The joys of Bermudaful Bermuda.. ::) ::)
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!
