At the moment QM2 has arrived in St. Nazaire, and is moving backwards very slowly and extremely carefully to enter the basin where she was built 14 years ago.

Great to know that the QM2 has come back to it's birthplace.

Hoping you can access details here, it's been extra-good watching QM2 Live this afternoon!

From the Bridge website "An event reserved for the ultimate trimarans over 81 feet (24.68 meters), THE BRIDGE promises a thrilling transatlantic race. On June 25, 2017 – 100 years to the day after the arrival of the Sammies on the French coasts – at 7 pm sharp, the waters of the Loire estuary will bubble with activity when, under the bridge of Saint-Nazaire, three cannon shots – this time as a sign of fraternity – kick-off this 3,152-mile (5,837 km) oceanic race to New York.

So far, QM2 is leading...

So far she's going to arrive days ahead of the yacht... she also appears to be doing a 6-nighter, and travelling a bit faster than is normal nowadays?

QM2 is so outrageously far ahead of the race now that some of the French sailing ships' skippers are starting to lose their temper and claim for penalty...

…and the winner is: QM2, having crossed from St. Nazaire to New York in 5 days, 16 hours and 45 minutes.

The fastest multihull sailing ship is still 925 miles away from arrival.

I am sure this was a great adventure for all concerned! And of course it got lots of publicity, which must be very welcome to all concerned.

Lovely that the race started in Saint Nazaire :) .
