A lovely video of QE2 leaving New York.  Not sure of the year, but late 90s maybe?

A nice shot of our very own Brian Price too!

Passionate about QE2's service life for 37 years and creator of this website.  Worked in IT for 27 years and created my personal QE2 website in 1994.

Based on QE2's livery this is between her late 1994 "Project Lifestyle" refit but before her late 1996 refit (her last at KGV) that also repaired the freak wave damage to the foredeck. She still has the Cunard Lion and the gold pinstripe which I think were removed and reverted respectively in that late 1996 refit. Judging by her wear and tear I'd say it was at the beginning of her 1996 world cruise - the video also making no mention of "Niagra" calls and disgruntled passengers as was the case the previous year!

First sailed on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last stepped foot and sailed on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw the seagoing QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008. Visited QE2, in her new life, in Dubai back in January 2020.

Rob - Hi and a Happy "25th"!\
This video is absolutely superb - complete with the whistle at the very end!
Thank you - there are more AP ones to be found on YT as well :)
QE2 had been waiting alongside in Dubai for nearly 12 years.  Please restore her Lifeboats and Tenders to where they truly belong - she looks naked without them - please spare her this ignominy.

I think l met the lovely lady interviewed who was splitting this cruise. Would her name be Rose ?
A regular passenger Ed Leigh of Concorde Limousines introduced us on a cruise to the Canaries, and in one of the ports was the other ship, Sagafjord and QE2s passengers were allowed to take a look onboard, The three of us took advantage
Mr Leigh had managed to get me a supplier ticket fare at a knock down rate. He supplied limos for passengers .

Now l think about it another regular l met away back in 1986 was at the Singles gathering in the Double Down bar, hosted by Peter Mullington and Alexandria Pauli , and she was Maxine Bernstein from New York.  I really had no idea who she was,( well l was only 17 years old)  , which if memory serves me correctly she found quite nice, and they never did let on exactly who she was.

Its amazing how some names just stick after all those years
And then there was the real old dame from the USA she used to lecture back in the USA on Pornography. A most entertaining and fascinating lady, at The Captains  Welcome Party l met up with her and quite excitedly told three of the table guests that she taught Pornography,  As soon as l said what i said l knew the great mistake l had made , and she jumped in there " At my age Myles Dear l don't teach it,l just talk about it "
Nobody dared say anything But she smiled and said "But l do love how you think "  It broke the moment  and there we stood speechless, But what a lady. One of QE2s characters  and someone you would never meet in a normal day on land .
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!
