Thank you! Although getting over the river vvv early without a car might be a tad tricky, how about ground level on the riverside of the docks down river from the Liver birds?


Have rung around today - The Royal Liver Buildings wouldn't even countenance opening up to anyone, even on a Bank Holiday , Tate Liverpool has windows over the river and are expecting 'thousands', and various hotels seemed uncharacteristically unhelpful..

Given that it was 2pm on 4th July that Britannia sailed from Liverpool.. 2pm might be a good timing point...
Or that might be the time  when the QM2 departs Liverpool..

Can we maybe start a roll-call for who will be there, and what days?  Then say whether you're interested in a get-together of some kind.

I think it will not be easy, though.  I can't organise it because I don't think I'll be there, however it would need careful thought given the enormous crowds that will be there.

9 am Sunday morning QM2 docks in liner berth
Fireworks and projections that night
Monday 11am, QM2 moves off to new brighton
Monday am QE and QV meet at Anglesea
12 noon Monday QE and QV arrive, QM2 tucks in behind.
Line of three ships from Echo arena to Cunard Building
All three to then perform 180 degree turn in water at 13.30
QM2 leaves 2.30
QE moves into liner berth, QV holds in centre of river and tenders
QE leaves at 10.30pm with projections onto Cunard building
QV to liner berth
QV leaves Tuesday 5pm.

Previous post by Cunardqueen is pretty accurate from what I have been told, with the exception, QM2 is arriving at the cruise terminal @ approx 3.30am.

As for a roll call (Good Idea)
We will be in or around Albert Dock most of the day & evening Sun 24th May probably meeting friends & family and of course any FORUM members who wish to make themselves known at the pumphouse (Any time would suit us for a meet)
As for the following day NO QM2 passengers are to be allowed OFF the ship on the Bank Holiday Monday morning before she goes to meet her "little sisters" as she sails about 10.30 am apparently

Bit early for me too be 100% sure of my plans ,but will definitely see the 3Q's event from Wirral side .

Probably be heaving with people but Liverpool Yacht Club could be a plan,  @ 1500 Mtrs walk along the waterfront .be a good place to meet after the main event .
