QE2 has more images in the exhibition the opened last night than any other Cunarder plus the fantastic 'Coming Home', unveiled by The Queen and given to Southampton, is centrepiece. Plus she got praised in Cunard speech.

Any more details of when and how long its on display for, it might be worthwhile taking a look down, especially if QE2 has the most photos.. ;D
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!

Brilliant! Thank you for letting us know, Michael -
(It will be a treat; something to bring back wonderful memories too..
Heading to the docks next week to pick up the suitcase that has been living in QM2's kennels (don't ask!) for three weeks.
Just hoping it didn't get bumped off in Walvis Bay!)

If it's possible and time allows - please, if you are  at Lunch on Sunday - please do give our best to Head Waiter Roy, (the only one from the Philippines) and Greg, Maitre 'D - in lower Britannia, both absolutely loved working on board QE2,
and Greg ('specially) might have time to go and visit the Art Gallery time-permitting!
They were both were incredibly helpful to us - we shall never be able to thank them enough.
Rosie.

The exhibition of Cunard's pictures in the Art Gallery (above the public Library in Southampton) is superb!

A wonderful collection of pictures and framed posters, it includes a growing number of  additional comments by visitors, several by children. Written on the special WV postcards, these comments recognise the quality of the art work and photography; the pictures encapsulate the reasons why Cunard's confidence remains high, and its reputation - great.
Cynics may remark that it is a clever exercise in 'good marketing' - on the other hand, there is every reason to think that it's because of good marketing and public relations, that Cunard's reputation is as high now as it was when the great liners were plying their trade a century ago - to find out more, visit the exhibition!

There is also to be an exhibition in the University of Liverpool
Details are in today's Echo.
