The transatlantic on board the QE2
« on: May 13, 2014, 09:05 PM »
Have just found this documentary , a few inaccuracies, & annoying ad breaks, however, it's interesting.  As usual, apologies if this link has been posted previously, (have looked but cannot see it ?). Bear with it. Mods as usual shift or cancel , ta pete                   http://

I'm guessing that film was made around 8 years after you left Rod.

Looks likes it had been made around 96 or 97. What do you all think?

"The QE2 is one of the last great transatlantic liners, and arguably the most famous liner in the world"

"QE2 and Concorde, a partnership that lasted almost 30 years... two stunning pieces of engineering, never to be forgotten!"

What a coincidence I found it on youtube yesterday and watched it and had no idea someone had posted it on here. The guy's voice gets kind of annoying after a while. It had some great shots of the QE2 though.

Have to agree with you Hank about the voice. ;) never the less, it was really interesting. It was nice how they talked about the history of Cunard and Transatlantic Express Liners too!

September 1997 and if we are being really pedantic round about the 10th -16th give or take a few days.
A very interesting presentation. ;D

It is very interesting! I loved the 1990s shots of the New York skyline with the original World Trade Center. So sad! I just wished they had even more footage of the ship and the transatlantic voyage. It felt all too short (like a real crossing).

A brilliant find and video, it's great to see some of the passageways and areas that link the below stairs operation.  Lots of photo's and videos have the caviar store but I've never seen the surrounding corridors before, I also love the fact that the caviar external door states 'Tinned Fish'  - how very true!

Well done for finding and posting sir

John
