I see there are quite a few build images on the forum already so perhaps nothing too unusual here but posting anyway.

Jane - wow!!  Those are absolutely, truly fantastic!  They look like they were taken yesterday too!  For me the very typical west of Scotland weather makes them even more real.  To see the funnel being lifted aboard is fantastic.

Based on our Construction Timeline topic - https://www.theqe2story.com/forum/index.php/topic,652.0.html - your photos are from April 1968, when the parts of the funnel were being fitted.

Brilliant Jane, absolutely brilliant!

To see 'that funnel' being created is truly fantastic. Thank you so much.

Thanks for posting these very special photos Jane.  These photos mean a lot to me not just because they are photos of the QE2 but also because the photos capture the workers onboard the ship.
I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

Oh Jane - Huge thanks to you!

These are absolutely superb photos, and as Lynda mentions, they are made even better because your Dad took such great care in taking them with QE2's builders in the pictures too.
I love the fact that the stern flagpole was put in so early!
The views of the river with all the teak decking in the foreground are wonderful too.
It must have been extremely hard work in pretty grim conditions -
Well Done to your father then - and a strong wish that we could send him our thanks and to those men on the Clyde.
